AI Assistants

You can use DailyHero with the ChatGPT, Claude or other external AI app you already know, so it is easier to plan family tasks, child-specific routines and rewards. You describe what you want in everyday language, and the connected AI app helps prepare actions in DailyHero.

For example, you can ask an AI assistant to suggest tasks for the week, create a few rewards, or show which tasks already exist for a child.

What This Means

DailyHero supports connections to AI apps through MCP. MCP is an open standard that allows AI assistants to work with approved features of external services.

Put simply, MCP is a safe bridge between DailyHero and external AI tools such as ChatGPT, Codex, Claude or Cursor.

You do not need special technical skills to set it up. The AI assistant only gets access to the actions allowed by your parent account.

What an AI Assistant Can Do

After you connect DailyHero, an AI assistant can do the following if you grant the relevant permission:

  • show a short family summary;
  • show a child’s tasks;
  • show completed tasks for a selected period;
  • show the points balance;
  • show available rewards;
  • show reward redemption history;
  • create a new task for a child;
  • create a new reward;
  • create several tasks or rewards in one request, as long as they fit within DailyHero limits.

Access is always limited to your family and your parent account.

What an AI Assistant Cannot Do

An AI assistant does not replace the parent and does not get full control over DailyHero.

Through an AI connection, it cannot:

  • approve or reject completed tasks;
  • undo already approved tasks;
  • redeem rewards;
  • change points directly;
  • create, edit, restore or delete child profiles;
  • connect child devices;
  • delete an account;
  • handle privacy-related requests;
  • perform support or administrator actions;
  • bypass DailyHero free plan limits.

Task approvals, reward redemptions and point changes stay inside the DailyHero app.

You Control What You Discuss with AI

If you talk about your child directly in ChatGPT, Claude or another external AI app, that conversation happens outside DailyHero. We do not receive or store the text of your conversation with the AI assistant.

You decide which details to share with your AI agent: your child’s age, interests, school goals, family rules or anything else. DailyHero only receives the requests that the external AI app sends through the DailyHero connection, and handles them within the allowed actions.

For example, you can discuss a new routine idea with an AI assistant, then ask it to create only the selected tasks or rewards in DailyHero.

Supported AI Tools

DailyHero supports connections to these AI tools:

  • ChatGPT;
  • Codex;
  • Claude and Claude Code;
  • Cursor.

How to Connect DailyHero to ChatGPT

DailyHero is now available as a ChatGPT app. The easiest way to connect it is to open the official DailyHero page in ChatGPT and start from there. You no longer need to create a custom MCP server manually.

Open DailyHero in ChatGPT

  1. Open the DailyHero app page in ChatGPT.
  2. Choose the option to connect or add DailyHero.
  3. The DailyHero sign-in page will open. Sign in with your DailyHero parent account.
  4. If you are new to DailyHero, create your family in the short web onboarding step.
  5. Review the requested access and approve the connection.
  6. Return to ChatGPT and try a safe request, for example: “Show me my DailyHero summary.”

If ChatGPT asks you to choose a permission level, it is better to keep the mode where important changes require confirmation. Do not choose a mode without confirmations unless you understand the possible consequences.

The ChatGPT interface can change. If the app page does not open in your current ChatGPT client, try opening it in the web version of ChatGPT.

How to Connect DailyHero to Codex

You can connect Codex to DailyHero manually, or ask Codex to help with the setup. It is usually easiest to start directly in chat: tell Codex that you want to connect DailyHero as an MCP server, and give it the connection details.

For example:

Help me connect DailyHero as an MCP server.
Name: DailyHero.
Connection: https://mcp.dailyhero.ink/mcp.
Authentication: OAuth.

Codex will suggest where to add the connection and which steps to take next. After setup, test the connection with a simple request, for example: “Show me a DailyHero summary.”

Codex is often a better fit for technical users and developers. For everyday family use, ChatGPT may be an easier first option.

The Codex interface and settings can change. If the steps differ from what you see, check the current Codex documentation.

How to Connect DailyHero to Claude or Claude Code

At this stage, custom Claude connections can be set up through Claude on the web or the Claude app for Mac. Custom connectors are not available in the Claude mobile app.

The easiest way to set up Claude is to install the ready-made DailyHero connection file, dailyhero-mcp.plugin, so you do not have to enter technical settings by hand.

In the Claude app for Mac:

  1. In the left sidebar, choose Customize.
  2. Under Personal plugins, click the + button.
  3. Choose Create plugin.
  4. Choose Upload plugin.
  5. Select the dailyhero-mcp.plugin file.
  6. Confirm adding it.
  7. On first use, Claude will ask you to sign in to DailyHero. Sign in with your parent account.

After setup, test the connection with a simple request, for example: “Which tasks does my child have?”

If you do not want to use the plugin file, you can connect DailyHero manually as a remote MCP / custom connector if that option is available in your version of Claude. In that case, use https://mcp.dailyhero.ink/mcp and OAuth authentication.

The Claude interface can change. If the steps differ from what you see, check the current Anthropic instructions.

How to Connect DailyHero to Cursor

You can connect DailyHero to Cursor through the MCP settings.

The easiest way is to open the published connector in Cursor Directory:

If you prefer to set it up manually:

  1. Open Cursor.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open Tools & MCPs.
  4. In Home MCP Servers, click New MCP Server.
  5. Add the DailyHero configuration in JSON format:

  1. Save the settings file.
  2. DailyHero will appear in the list of MCP servers.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Sign in to DailyHero with your parent account.
  5. After connecting, test it with a simple request, for example: “Show me a DailyHero summary.”

First Request

If you have connected DailyHero and do not know what to ask first, start with a simple question:

How can you help me with DailyHero?

The AI assistant will explain which actions are available: what it can read in DailyHero, which data it can show, which tasks or rewards it can help create, and which actions stay inside the app.

Example Requests

After connecting, you can ask the AI assistant not only to show data from DailyHero, but also to help build a task and reward system for a specific child. You can copy these examples and adapt them to your situation.

For a 4-Year-Old Child

Help me create tasks and rewards that would motivate my 4-year-old daughter.

I want to gently help her build these habits:
- brushing her teeth in the morning and evening;
- washing her hands before meals and after going outside;
- putting away toys.

Look at child psychology recommendations for useful skills children can build at this age.

My child cannot read very well yet, so choose a clear emoji for each task and a very short two-word description.

Suggest tasks, point values and simple rewards. Then help me choose what is best to save in DailyHero.

For a 12-Year-Old Child

Help me create tasks and rewards for a 12-year-old boy.

I want him to:
- tidy his room regularly;
- help around the house and take out the rubbish;
- help mow the lawn in summer, because we live in a house;
- go to bed on time;
- move more;
- take school more seriously and gradually improve his results.

He likes computer games, video games, football and programming.

We have a weekly reward budget of 10 euros. Rewards can also include extra screen time.

Suggest a set of tasks, points, possible rewards and explain why this system could motivate a child. Then help me choose which tasks and rewards to create in DailyHero.

The AI assistant will suggest options, but you do not have to accept them right away. You can ask it to change the tone, simplify tasks, make rewards cheaper, add more movement, remove anything unnecessary or look for more ideas. Step by step, you can build a set of tasks and rewards that fits your family.

Before creating tasks or rewards, carefully check what the AI assistant is going to save in DailyHero.

Safety and Control

DailyHero uses parent-account sign-in and separate permissions for AI connections.

External AI apps can send DailyHero only the requests needed for the selected action. If you ask ChatGPT to create a task or reward, DailyHero saves only the data for that task or reward, such as the title, description, points or cost. We do not ask to save your whole conversation with AI.

The text of tasks and rewards depends on you and on what you asked the AI to prepare. Before saving, check which data the AI app is sending to DailyHero.

This means:

  • the AI assistant does not get direct access to the DailyHero database;
  • every action is checked by DailyHero;
  • access is limited to your family;
  • a child account does not get parent permissions;
  • important actions such as task approvals and reward redemptions are not available through AI;
  • the connection can be revoked.

If you no longer want to use the AI connection, disconnect it in the AI app and in DailyHero settings.

How to Disconnect an AI Connection

You can disable access in two places.

In the AI app:

  1. Open the app or connection settings.
  2. Find DailyHero.
  3. Disconnect or remove the connection.

In DailyHero:

  1. Open the parent account settings.
  2. Go to AI connections.
  3. Select the connected app.
  4. Revoke access.

After access is revoked, the AI app can no longer make requests to DailyHero on your behalf.

If Something Is Not Working

DailyHero Does Not Appear in the List of Connections

The connection may not yet be available for your AI tool or account. Check whether your tool supports MCP connections and whether DailyHero has been published for that channel.

Sign-In Does Not Open or Does Not Complete

Check that you are signing in with a DailyHero parent account. Child accounts should not get access to AI connections.

The AI Can See DailyHero but Cannot Create a Task or Reward

Possible reasons:

  • the connection was created before create support was enabled and needs to be reconnected;
  • create actions are disabled in the AI tool itself;
  • the selected child or family is not available;
  • the active task or reward limit has been reached;
  • the connection has been revoked.

The AI Says the Tool Was Not Found

Sometimes AI clients cache old versions of connections. Try refreshing the tool list, reconnecting DailyHero or starting a new chat.

MCP-Compatible Tools and Creating Data

The DailyHero MCP connection can work in different AI tools if they support this connection standard.

An MCP-compatible tool can create tasks or rewards only after a parent signs in and approves read-and-create access on the DailyHero consent screen.

If a particular AI tool hides or disables create actions, you can still use it to view tasks, points and rewards, then create new tasks or rewards in DailyHero or through another MCP-compatible connection.
